The Book Club
Welcome to the DRTF Book Club page. We hope you’ve been enjoying finding your way around the site and getting to grips with our distinctive flavours of book reviews, opinion pieces and long-term ephemera that combines our favourite books with the best of the web.
The Book Club starts on May 10 with Italo Calvino’s If on a Winter’s Night a Traveller translated by William Weaver. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we have – beguiling, difficult, rewarding we think it is a book that rewards loyalty to the book and to the author with pleasure and satisfaction for the reader. It must be one of our favourite books of all time.
On May 2 we will post a review of the book and open up the comments section. We would be delighted if you would take the time to let us know what you think of the book, how you found reading it and to respond to some of the questions and themes we raise in our post about it.
If you want to read the book and don’t have a copy, please do use the link on the righthand side to download a Kindle edition, or if you are in London, take a copy of our newsletter to any Daunt Books bookshop and purchase the book and you’ll get a Daunt Books cloth book bag and a copy of the Daunt Books publication, The Inland Sea, for absolutely free.
